Challenge
No matter the level of preparation, there is always a chance that issues may present themselves. Douron takes the necessary steps to ensure that solutions are created for a beautiful end result.
Designing a space for the purpose of co-working during the pandemic definitely had its challenges. Addressing all of the installation logistics added even more complexity to the process. Due to the location of the historic building being in the heart of one of Washington DC’s historic neighborhoods, this presented parking and offloading challenges for the Douron installation team.
Solution
To address the concerns for this project: parking, offloading, securing the elevator, surveying the workspace, informing the staff of install, and coordinating with other trades, a site visit prior to installation was key.
The implementation during the install process included the following:
Initial Site Visit
During the initial visit, we reviewed the plans for electric and data outlet placement where needed and addressed any other concerns they may have for installation according to the plan.
Preparation
To prepare for installation day, the warehouse team loaded all products into the delivery trucks according to floors and rooms to ensure a seamless install into the buidling.
Coordination
To remain consistent with the project timeline, it was imperative to coordinate with all other trades on site. This ensures that daily tasks were handled smoothly.
Expected Results
The first three levels of the historic building, equaling 30,000 sq. ft. house private offices, dedicated desks, larger team areas, virtual offices, conference rooms, collaboration areas, huddle rooms, training conference rooms and much more.
